A sister once told me: "If you are righteous, you have nothing to scare about." After I heard, immediately I remembered what my Lord has told me: "Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor Me, and to the blameless I will show My salvation" (Psalm 50:23).
I strongly believe I have got my Lord's salvation on 2018. My mom got ovarian cancer (stage 4) on March and she was healed by my Lord through my prayers and now totally recovered. I praise my Lord. During this new year 2019, I would like to share with all of my friends about my personal new year's resolutions:
- Stop Whatsapp
- Threaten? no way
- Crucify me? yes, I am ready for my Lord
Why? A lot of my friends heard about my stories while running 7-Eleven business in USA. One Christmas season, I was robbed by different robbers for 7 times in a row in my 7-Eleven. Those were all "armed" robberies. I pressed police button hidden under my counter. Police came with weapon, caught robbers, reported on newspapers. At different December midnights, while working in graveyards shift, black people brought guns to rob few hundred dollars from my store. With pistol pointed at head, I was really not scared, as I knew my Lord and angels were always surrounding me. Eventually, nobody was hurt. We even asked: "why you come to rob?" One answer was really touching: "need $100 to bring my sick son to see doctor."
So, I don't know why I will not scare of death. Even until now. For any threat, I say no way. I really believe all human beings are sinners, including myself. Sins are conducted for different reasons. That's why Lord Jesus understood and came to crucify for me and rescue me from sins.
Congratulations to Singapore ranked world's No. 2 by World Bank for best country easy to conduct business in 2018. I came back to Singapore because I believe Singapore is a safe haven for business. So I hope Singapore continue to be a fair, competitive, equal and the safest market with no threat, no scare, a real true safe haven for business. I wish in 2019, Singapore will become number 1 in this rating with Singaporean's best effort. This is Singaporean's country.
Mr. Lee Kuan Yew once said and proved: "You need somebody who can communicate, who can mobilise people, move people."
I supported "stop whatsapp" group because I feel Whatsapp has caused serious "miscommunication" among people. I feel it was misused for business. For me, Whatsapp is not a business tool. It is a personal messaging tool for friends and family to say "Hi" to each other. That's why you seldom saw me reading whatsapp or facebook business messages, or even emails, and this new year 2019, I have decided to stop using Whatsapp and my personal facebook for business related matters.
Some of you knew that I was a professional programmer. In year 1996 when I was in Silicon Valley, I already programmed my first messaging software, even before Facebook or Google was born. I designed a small messaging chat software just to chat virtually with a friend in Australia, and I was successful. I never expected messaging software (whatsapp, Friendster, ICQ) becomes mainstream nowadays. I was so regret not to commercialize my chat software then. Adoi, adoi...
Facebook founder Mark Zukerburg regretfully said: "The way that I think about this is that people should really be at the center of how we design technology. It shouldn't be designed around apps, it should be designed around our relationships, because that's what matters to people, and that's not the world we're on, on mobile."
Yes, people should really be at the center and whatsapp should be around our personal relationships. So if whatsapp becomes not about personal relationship but business, then it has diverted from its original purpose and I should leave Whatsapp from now.
But if anyone wanted to look for me, I still stand firmly here, just call me directly at Tel: 92338864. I personally wanted this world to go back to the most natural way of communication. If anyone wanted to meet me, I will fix a time at Burger King Cineleisure eating burger every Tuesday evening 6-7pm (but if Tuesday is a holiday, please give me a break as I would go to eat better dinner with my family).
As part of my new year resolutions, I promise myself that I will share all of my personal experiences online starting 2019. I trust Google Blog because I feel it is one of the strongest internet companies which will survive in internet for 100 or 200 more years. So even one day or tomorrow I left this world to Heaven, my life experiences will still be searchable on Google after 100-200 years. My blogs could include your special stories with me too. I will also share my new year resolutions in my Google personal blog.
I am really not a believer of Whatsapp for business use. Using WhatsApp is NOT a company written policy. So I personally will leave Whatsapp now. I only trust human natural communications by face to face. I'm an old fashion guy. If anyone want to talk business, let's make appointment, meet naturally, not virtually. I am a programmer of virtual software programs but I am not its believer. I just programmed software to make money. I trust in my Lord only. Lord created us to talk to communicate.
Life is too short. I'm almost 50 years old this new year, easily get sick, not really afraid of death because I know already I will see my Lord anytime, so just don't remind me about yesterday, forget about yesterday, I only value today. Today is 1-1-2019. I am ready to be crucified with my Lord for any reason if my Lord allows. I just trust in Him.
My Bible says, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:5-11).
Above is my personal sharing to my friends on new year. I hope you read all. Too many to share because I don't know where I will be tomorrow. Isaiah here personally wishes all of my friends have happy, blessed and meaningful new year 2019 ahead.
Best wishes,
Isaiah Choo
